2015-04-30: Caaminando Aljucén – Alcuéscar –Aldea del Cano (38/ 278 km)

When I was about to leave “Ajucén” I discovered that I had lost my rain wear. Did I forget them in “Torremejía”? They could not be found in “Aljucén”. Really bad – forgotten - stolen?
Apart from this problem the day started fine in a setting of lightly forested surroundings and a gravel road. I passed the old dentists and got the surname “el lobo solo” (the lone wolf).
I passed the border between the provinces of “Badajoz” and “Cáceres”. A good day for walking. Up over the pass between farmhouses and sheeps. Reached “Acuéscar” after some navigation. In “Alcuéscar” I found the needed ”Cajero Automatico” (ATM machine). I did also find a bar for lunch, but no sports shop for rain wear. The afternoon was a continuous dull walk through a generally neglected farming area. But I could understand why. Stones and stoneslabs everywhere so the earth was poor.
Eventually I passed ”Casas de Don Antonio”, a somewhat artificial village for people with some money. Not a good place to stay, but after while I found a bar at a road crossing. The I had to continue at the road side all the way to “Aldea del Cano”. I was tired but found the albergue directly.
Just one guest – my old acquaintance the French guy tha I met at the dinner in Torremejia.  A silent person! He walks fast and alone with quite a different agenda from me.
From here I wrote several SMS in Spanish to the owners of the albergues in “Torremjía” and “Aljucén” and asked if they had seen my rain wear. After that some food at the restaurant at the side of the albergue.
